Mooresville, North Carolina – April 16th, 2012 – The Oakley Big Bass Tour’s second stop of the 2012 campaign was held this last weekend on Lake Norman at the 3rd Annual Jamie McMurray Big Bass Classic. Over 400 anglers competed in the two day open big bass event. “This has developed into one of our marquee events,” said Louis Wellen with Oakley Sports Marketing. “We had a record turnout and some nice fish brought to the scales over the weekend.” added Wellen.
Anglers competed throughout the event weekend for thousands in hourly cash prizes and a chance at the 2012 Nitro grand prize for the overall largest big bass. Chad Schroeder posted the leading weight on Saturday at 5.47lbs and he was able to hold on to the lead throughout Sunday and take home the championship. Up next is the Blue Ridge Big Bass Classic on Smith Mountain Lake.
